Welcome to the official website of The Oxford and Cambridge Club of Nigeria.
The Oxford and Cambridge Club of Nigeria is a non-profit association of the alumni of either University of Oxford or University of Cambridge who are Nigerian or living in Nigeria. The Club was established over 30 years ago by a group of prominent Nigerians who attended either of the two Universities and wished to create a forum to encourage social, economic and intellectual debates in Nigeria.
A new Executive Committee of the Club was elected on 24 February 2016. The Members of the Executive Committee are: Mr. Akinfela Akoni (President); Ms Nkiru Asika (Vice President); Mr. Michael Orimobi (Vice President); Ms Adeola Egbeyemi (Hon. Secretary); Mrs Doyin Nwankwo (Hon. Treasurer); Ms Obianuju Idigo (Membership Secretary); Mr. Lanre Fatimilehin (Social Secretary); Professor Bomi Ogedengbe (Ex-officio); Mr. Uche Okoli (Ex-officio); Mr. Ike Chioke (Ex-officio) and Mr. Adekunle Adebiyi (Ex-officio).
The highlights of our year are the May Ball (traditionally held in June), the Spring Lecture and more recently, The Oxbridge Debate. We strongly believe that all our events are enjoyable, inspiring, and topical!
The Club continues to build a reputation for intellectual thought leadership, attracting leaders from the business, diplomatic and academic cadres to its events.
2016 promises to be an exciting year for the Club with a mixture of intellectual, business and social events being hosted by the Club.
We have a committed Executive Committee with diverse professional and personal experience to help achieve the goals set for our great Club. We need to continue to grow our Membership in Nigeria to ensure that the Club is able to contribute to society at large.
Mr. Akinfela Akoni
